Dog Training

Basic obedience commands such as ‘Sit’, ‘Drop’, ‘Stay’, ‘Heel’, ‘Recall’, ‘Wait’, ‘Free’, ‘Paw’ and more, are part of the work I do with the pet first and with the owners later. It is important to know that learning hardly ever happens overnight however through patience, repetitions, and mostly positive reinforcement, we can achieve a lot.

Every dog is different, just like a human being, so it is fundamental to always pay close attention to how the animal behaves and reacts to whatever distractions/people/environment surround it. How it reacts to ENERGY.

Most of the positive outcome with the pup is directly connected to how much the owner is then willing to practice with his/her pet, as the bond that needs to be created isn’t with me but with the owner himself.

Dog Whispering

What does barking, whining, crying, and so on, mean? What about the “unspoken” communication that they express through body language, just like humans do?

A yawn for a human being signifies boredom, sleepiness; whereas for a dog it’s exactly the opposite! Dogs that yawn aren’t ready for a nap: they are expressessing uneasiness in regards to a situation. Once we learn to understand them and “read” them, communication becomes much easier, and life with them becomes much more enjoyable!

The act of whispering to a dog always takes me back to an old italian “spaghetti western” where Bud Spencer whispers in a donkey’s ear as it was stubbornly stuck in the middle of a river while carrying a wagon. As a result of the “magic” whisper the donkey starts moving and carries the wagon and its owners out of the tangled situation…

This is obviously a funny movie I’m referring to, but to a certain extent I’ve seen this happen in real life too! Such an amazing experience, shall we?

Dog Psychology

I start with observing the pup and the owner in their environment, how they interact with one another and with the rest of the family if present. Once I have this with information I’m able to understand where the dog is at, in manifesting particular behaviour. I normally work with the pet first and the owner later to pinpoint past traumas and associated behaviour and modify it as much as possible (given age, entity of trauma, habits, etc.) in order to have a healthy and happy pup/owner relationship.

Desensitization is definitely something I look into and work with the pets. I gradually take the dog out of it’s comfort zone, baby steps, in order to move forward and bring the dog back to a relaxed state of mind. Just like humans, dogs if stressed or scared won’t learn new skills.

When scared survival mode kicks in and stress is too much to handle, being calm and making them feel safe is definitely a start for further learning or getting through mental blockages. I also practice meditation with them and it works wonders… just like it does for humans!

We must always keep in mind that our pets pick up on our energy and our vibrations.

Puppy Approach

Getting a puppy brings a big change in a family’s life to say the least! The breed, the habits, the shared space, and the dependency are only a few of the new aspects the family will face while getting a puppy; it can be a little challenging at first without the right tools and knowledge.

I’ve had owners call me even before the little stranger arrived in their homes! Toilet training, chewing, biting, jumping are just a small part of the new life with a puppy.

Lockdown has changed our habits all over the world in many ways but on a good note our shelters aren’t as full as they used to be, so a lot of pups have been adopted or bought, but as life goes back to normal we are left with a bunch of dogs that have high separation anxiety and connected behaviours.

The period between the 3rd and the 14th week in a pup’s life are fundamental to determine what kind of dogs they will turn into as adults. Socialization with people and other dogs, playtime, the right training and so on are very important because as amazing as it sounds their experience will be stuck in their DNA for ever.

Pet Therapy

I organise little adventures and get together for people and dogs/cats as a therapeutic treatment.

I help people get to know a pet friend and share unconditional love. Having a pet close to you does make a huge difference, especially for those people who have suffered trauma, have mental health issues, fear and anxiety.

Being around a pets just generally puts a smile on your face! Animals know how to stay in the ‘now’: there is no time for them other than the present moment basically.

That is such a powerful skill to have: benefits are amazing!

Dog Minding

I look after your pet in different environments: from where it feels more comfortable to new and unknown spaces. I offer packages for daily, weekly sleepovers, house sitting and also have a special dog retreat in the countryside where the dogs get training and learn how to behave and socialise in a safe environment.

A special holiday for your dog!
